How To Speed Up Windows XP Start Menu | Start Menu Registry

For your info, the default speed of the Start Menu is 400 which is quite slow, but you can fix that by editing a Registry Key.?Just follow the below steps and you will improve the speed of start menu.

1) Start –> Run –>type regedit

2) Then Registry Editor will open up, find for the below registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ MenuShowDelay

By default, the MenuShowDelay value is 400. Change this to a smaller value, such as 0.

2) Turn off the option titled Show?shadow under menus?to?get better performance.
