How local bank transfers work on Get

Sending money locally with Get

You can send money locally via Get, depending on the KYC grading of your Get account:

  1. Full KYC: (If you’ve verified your identity with SingPass), simply press Pay by bank transfer within the Get app under the Payments Tab.
  2. Light KYC: (If your account isn’t verified yet with SingPass), we suggest your Get account to be SingPass verified (for those >15yo that can sign up with SingPass). Alternatively, reach out to our friendly customer support chat and they will help you with a refund request with identity verification documents provided

Why does Get ask for identification for refunds, is SingPass/identity verification needed to withdraw?

For refunds, Get withdrawal to a local personal bank account is considered a “refund”, which, by law, would require Get to verify that you are who you claim to be, and the receiving bank account belongs to you, the verified person. By allowing withdrawal without sufficient identity verification, Get would be breaching regulatory requirements.

The transferred money got deducted from my Get account but I did not receive it in the other bank account, why?

Some of you may have transferred money to other accounts, such as Singlife and Dash. Please note that non-bank digital accounts/wallets typically do not accept fund transfer from other non-bank digital accounts/wallets. The money you transferred from your Get account would have arrived at the receiving company’s bank account (e.g Singlife), but not in your specific Singlife account. The receiving company would then need to perform a refund to your Get account in this case.

To prevent confusion, Get would be implementing blocks on outward transfers to all 3rd party non-bank digital accounts/wallets, so that you will not face the same issue again.

I faced some errors when transferring money out, how come?

Sometimes, like all digital money accounts, we may encounter rare technical errors and bugs that affect your money transfers in the app. Under these situations, please help us improve our service by reporting the case to our customer support team, and our engineers will investigate and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
