GET is on a mission to help parents raise financially-smart kids and empower families to navigate life together.
With a debit card for kids and teens, money lessons, safety and protection features and more, GET is the app that has your family’s back. So you can go far and stay connected.
Is there a minimum age?
GET is for kids aged 6 to 18 years. If they turn above 18, they can still continually use GET.
GET is for parents of all ages. No minimum (or maximum) age here.
Why is financial literacy important?
It isn’t easy learning how to be good at money. Schools don’t teach you and families don’t always talk about finances.
Consumers lacking financial literacy spend more on transaction fees, run up bigger debts, save less money and incur higher interest rates on loans (Lusardi and Tufano, 2015; Lusardi and de Bassa Scheresberg, 2013).
Meanwhile, benefits of financial literacy are manifold. People with strong financial skills do a better job planning and saving for retirement.
How does GET help kids learn about money?
GET helps kids learn by giving them real-life experience with money. Kids get the independence to manage their own money and learn smart money habits such as earning, saving and spending wisely. Parents stay in control with complete visibility of how and what their kids are doing.
How can you spend money via Get?
Customers can spend money via the Get Card or PayNow using the Get app, to a local business.
How can you send money via Get?
Customers can send money locally via FAST or PayNow. This feature requires customers to be graded Full-KYC by complete identity verification via MyInfo SingPass (via the Get app).
Can customers refund their money?
Yes, customers can refund their money from their Get account by speaking with our customer support team via the Help section of the app. This would also require a verification check.
Is GET safe?
It’s our top priority to keep your family and money safe. We use encryption to keep your money and personal details safe, and we never sell your information to third parties. Your Parent App gives you complete visibility into how your kids are managing their money. Plus, merchant restrictions ensure your kids can’t spend at alcohol or cigarette shops, etc.
How do I know where my kids are using their Get cards?
Enable push notifications for GET on your phone and you’ll get real-time notifications whenever your kids use their GET cards.
What are merchant restrictions?
Merchant restrictions block unsafe spending categories. What this means is that your kids can’t use their Spriggy cards at places like alcohol or tobacco shops, for gambling, for adult entertainment, etc.
Why does GET have a membership fee?
GET isn’t a bank. We don’t make money off interest on loans or credit card fees and debt. We’re a small business on a big mission - to help Singaporean families raise money-smart kids and our fees help us make that happen. See our pricing of other fees and charges that may apply.
